Mr. Humfreez

Hygroscopic sensor

Mr Humfreez is a project that was done through the work with hygroscopic sensors, manufactured to react with the 65% relative humidity and a heat sensor that reacts to 18°C. Working with ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group) to produce a set of objects that can be available at home to alert kiwis about their home climate conditions and to be a useful tool for learning that can be friendly to kids and families.

“Mr Humfreez goes blue in the face when the temperature dips below the healthy level of 18°C.”

“To prevent mould growth, the amount of moisture in your home (relative humidity) should ideally be below 65% most of the time. This is why Mr Humfreez warns you by uncurling his horns when the moisture in the air exceeds 65%”
